Job descriptions

Field Marshal Responsibilities:  

All Field Marshals act on behalf of the Tournament Director, CDT committee and the WSC, and assist with the specifics of keeping games running in a timely manner.  Typically, each site is assigned a LEAD Field Marshall who will work as a site coordinator for all Field Marshall and Site Support responsibilities.  The major responsibilities for marshals include:

Registering all referees (check in/out each day) and reassignment of referees as needed.

Collect and track all game scores, penalties (yellow/red cards), and injury reports each day.  In the event of a red card,

Review game schedule and checked in referees to ensure there is proper coverage.  Any concerns are to be reported to the site LEAD Field Marshall.

 

 

In the event of a red card, check the next game to be played and notify the LEAD Field Coordinator where the game will be played that the player who received the red card may not play in the next game.

18+

 

Work to keep all games running on time - communicate to the HEAD Field Marshall any potential issues.

Knowledge of tournament rules (posted on web and located in Marshal Site book).

In the unlikely event of a protest, notify the Field Marshall Coordinator and Tournament Director immediately.  If neither can be contacted, notify the site LEAD Field Marshall.  The rules for registering a protest are spelled out on the web site and in the tournament program but as a point of reference, ALL protests must be registered in writing within 2 hours of the completion of a match.

Adult

 

Act as the liaison at the Tournament site for police and safety personnel, coaches, referees, team coordinators and tournament guests.

Transition outstanding issues to the Field Marshal(s) assigned to your site for the shift.

Track and assist with all major injuries – when in doubt, have 911 called.

Site Support Responsibilities:

Ensure corner flags are located on all fields at all sites.  Collecting flags at night (to prevent theft).

Distribute and collect appropriate size game balls each morning and evening.

Communicate all unsafe playing conditions to the Tournament Director and HEAD Field Marshall ASAP.

Pick up trash and/or refuse (adhering to safety by wearing gloves) on an hourly basis.

Support meals that may be provide to the Police Cadets and Refs.

Selling tournament merchandise includes, if needed (not limited to programs).

Good will ambassadors - Provide general assistance to tournament participants.
